Retired models get their own marker

Steven · 2026-07-25

Deprecated and retired aren't the same thing. A deprecated model still answers API calls, with the vendor telling you to move off it. A retired one returns an error no matter what you send. Until today we only tracked the first one.

FEATRetired models now show a plain † next to their name instead of the red deprecated dot. The two never overlap, once a model is retired that's the only marker it gets.

FEATThe No deprecated toggle now hides retired models too, on the site and the analyzer.

FEATTen models moved from deprecated to retired: Anthropic's claude-sonnet-4 and claude-3-5-haiku, Google's gemini-3-pro-preview, Mistral's mistral-large-2411, xAI's grok-4 and grok-3, and five DeepSeek models, deepseek-r1, deepseek-v3.1, deepseek-v3.1-reasoner, deepseek-v3.2-exp, and deepseek-v3.2-exp-reasoner.
